LAVENDER HYDROSOL, 2OZ SPRAY

This soothing hydrosol water is steamed distilled in small batches.

Hydrosol waters can be used in lotions, creams, bath preparations or straight on the skin. They provide mild tonic and skin cleansing properties and are generally safe for all skin types.

Lavender is known to have a calming effect on children as well as adults, making this floral water an excellent addition to room sprays, lotions, facial toners, or simply pour some into a spray bottle and use directly on your skin. Try making your own skin toner! Simply fill any size bottle with equal parts of witch hazel (non alcohol type), your choice of floral water and aloe vera oil. Shake it up, and apply on clean face and neck. Its that simple, and it works great!

With its cooling and healing properties, Lavender Hydrosol works wonders for applying to burns, sunburn, rashes, etc., especially if the affected area is on the face or other sensitive areas.

Among its many uses, Lavender Hydrosols fresh and happy aroma is excellent for refreshing bed linens, clearing room environments, keeping road rage at bay, and calming the nerves before the interview. Are the children cranky or restless at bedtime? Spray a nighttime treat a Lavender goodnight kiss to help them wind down to a restful sleep.

Aromatic Profile: Sweet, herbal/floral, typical of Lavender, with a coumarin-like, deep honeyed undertone.

Stability/Shelf Life: Quite stable, with an average shelf life of up to two years under ideal conditions. Please keep refrigerated to prolong freshness.

Use: Body / Skin Care- pH generally falls in the mid range, making it appropriate for all skin types.

Safety Considerations: None known.

What is a hydrosol?

Hydrosols are the aromatic waters that occur as a co-product of Essential Oil distillation. There are a number of other (and some less than accurate) names for these: hydrolats, floral waters (although they are obtained from more than just flowers), herbal waters, etc. Also, authentic hydrosols are not to be confused with products made by combining Essential Oils or Absolutes with plain/distilled water.

According to Kurt Schnaubelt in his book Medical Aromatherapy Healing with Essential Oils, aromatic hydrosols provide an elegant alternative and are eminently useful for aromatherapy treatments, especially for children, when the use of the Essential Oil might be too strong. Also, many constituents in hydrosols are different from those found in the Essential Oil from the same plant material. As such, while hydrosols may have actions similar to their Essential Oil counterparts, they may have other attributes their Essential Oil counterparts would not.
