If ever an aroma could be said to impart feelings of comfort and well-being, our organic Cocoa Absolute surely is one! The luscious, enticing aroma is hard to resist; it is highly recommended for chocolate lovers as the aroma is like that of fine dark chocolate - good enough to eat (but please don't)! Cocoa Absolute seems ideally suited for environmental fragrancing as well as scenting decadent soaps and candles and for those who just can get enough of that delicious smell!

PLEASE NOTE: Cocoa Absolute - Organic contains a small amount of caffeine⁷; if you are highly sensitive to, or have an allergy to caffeine, we recommend avoiding this oil. Soluble in alcohol, partially soluble in fixed (vegetal) oils; please see Blending Suggestions below. In addition, Cocoa Absolute is not recommended for aromatherapy; it is intended for use in perfumery only.

Aromatic Profile: Warm, balsamic, very rich, as in the aroma of dark unsweetened chocolate with a bitter and faint, almost spicy back note; has fixative properties and is very tenacious.

Appearance: Very dark brown, the viscous, opaque, paste-like mass that is pourable when gently heated. Will require special use instructions to blend.

Use: Natural Perfumery.

Blending Suggestions: Our organic Cocoa Absolute is completely soluble in alcohol. Dilute and add drop by drop to your blends until the desired effect is achieved. Although it is not soluble in fixed (vegetable) oils, it does impart its aroma when the carrier oil/Cocoa Absolute combination is gently heated and shaken. In this case, the absolute will settle to the bottom, leaving a highly scented, clear, light brown oil layer on top.

Blends Well With Balsam of Peru, Bergamot, Black Currant Bud, Cinnamon, Cistus, Clove, Coffee, Cognac, Ginger, Jasmine, Labdanum, Lime, Mimosa, Nutmeg, Orange, Osmanthus, Patchouli, Peppermint, Rose, Sandalwood, Spearmint, Tobacco, Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang. In base accords, trace amounts "can be used to impart exotic effects."⁸
