OVERVIEW
Palo Santo is a sweet, lively and woody oil that is traditionally used in spiritual rituals to clear negativity from a space, much in the way that White Sage is used. It comes from the same botanical family (Burseraceae) as Frankincense and Myrrh, and is often used to enhance meditative states, just like its cousins, encouraging relaxation and calming the nerves.
Our Palo Santo is distilled in small batches from sustainably harvested wood. The aged, dead wood is gathered from the forest floor on Ecuador's Pacific coast, allowing the production of oil without any harm to the living trees.
This South American sacred oil is known as holy wood in Spanish for its many applications in spiritual practices. Combine it with Frankincense and Myrrh to help induce deep meditative states, or with White Sage to help clear and brighten a rooms energy.
Aromatic Profile: Woody, sweet, with citrus and mint undertones. Reminiscent of Frankincense.
Appearance: Clear to pale yellow liquid.
Use: In incense, spiritual ritual, meditation, clear negativity, and to help reduce anxiety, stress and uplift the mind.
Blends Well With: Frankincense, Myrrh, Patchouli, White Sage, Lavender, Neroli, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood.
Safety Considerations: Us with caution and always dilute. The maximum dilution that is considered safe for dermal use is 3.4% (Tisserand 2014). We recommend using no more than 1-2% in a blend. Do not use with small children, elders, epileptics, pregnant and/or nursing women.
