Brita LaTona, Herbalist

Brita LaTona is a Fort Collins native who studied Herbal Medicine and Nutrition at the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism (now called the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism) in Boulder, CO, and completed her Professional Herbalist certification through the East West School of Planetary Herbology in Santa Cruz, CA.

Brita enjoys working with clients from a holistic perspective, using plants as medicine to aid in achieving balance on physical, spiritual and psychological levels.  This includes drawing from ancient systems like Ayurveda as well as modern knowledge of health and nutrition. She is also very interested in plant spirit medicine, Native American plant wisdom, and sharing the healing power of plants on a wider scale.

A  trip to Costa Rica was very influential in finding her direction in the field of herbal medicine. She now finds herself even more passionate about the study of ethnobotany and the deep-rooted bonds of cultures and their relationship to plants for healing.

Brita is eager to help those in the Fort Collins area gain optimum health and a deeper understanding of plant-based healing. She incorporates this passion not only in her clinical practice but also her love for teaching all of the many ways that herbs can be integrated into our daily lives.

In addition to being a staff herbalist, she often teaches classes at the store and is one of the teachers at Equinox Center of Herbal Studies.
